Bob Marshall and Anita Force Marshall are exhibiting their exuberant artwork for the months of June and July on the Sanibel Community House website at The public is invited to view their colorful display 24 hours a day. Despite the temporary closure of the Community House, the organization has launched an innovative “virtual” art exhibit featuring work by these two members of the Sanibel Captiva Art League. Instead of hanging paintings in the entry lobby as is usually the case, Bob and Anita are featuring their art on the Community House website.
Bob’s interest in drawing with Pen & Ink started in in his childhood and teen years. His passions for cooking and art keep him busy. Bob enjoys Zen Tangle and the simplistic detail of Pen & Ink. He states, “The process puts me in another time and place. I continue to experiment and develop new styles and techniques, and I hope my art makes you smile and wonder.” Enjoy his humorous and artful look at the islands where he finds inspiration everywhere.
Anita enjoys incorporating vibrant colors and whimsy into her work and hopes her paintings reflect her laid back island life. A regular participant in the San Cap Art Plein Air Painters’ weekly excursions, she hopes to bring a smile your way with her whimsical point of view as she interprets the islands’ many treasures. She lives, writes, and paints with Bob on Sanibel Island, Florida.
Year-round Sanibel residents, Anita’s and Bob’s art is often exhibited locally on Sanibel and Captiva. They display at the SCAL Art on the Veranda at Baileys General Store each year during season. “We are so thankful to the innovative staff at our Sanibel Community House,” say the couple. “Because of their ingenuity and thinking out of the box during this disastrous pandemic, everyone, no matter where you are, can enjoy the healing power of art virtually."
